2026 - 2027 Sunshine State Book Information

Hello Families,

We are so excited to get started with our Sunshine State Books this year! The purpose of the SSYRA, or Sunshine State Young Readers Award Program, is to encourage students to read independently for pleasure and to read books that are on, above, and below their reading level in order to improve their reading fluency. Sunshine State books are selected for their wide appeal, literary value, varied genres, curriculum connections, and/or multicultural representation.

All SSYRA Testing this year will be done through the Renaissance app located on your students MyPascoConnect dashboard. Please keep this in mind as it is different from previous years! Students will need to read and pass the assessments to receive a brag tag for that book and to attend the Celebrations. 

We will have two large parties this year, a 6 Book Celebration and a 15 Book Celebration. Books will need to be read and have a passing test by the below dates in order to attend Celebrations:

6 Book Celebration Deadline - December 11th

15 Book Celebration Deadline - May 7th

As always, all books are available in classroom libraries, in the SPES Media Center, and at your local Library too!
